The future of Australian basketball is looking bright!
Aussie Dyson Daniels, a projected lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft continues to impress for the G League Ignite, setting a new season-high in their 95-92 loss to the Salt Lake City Stars at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
Daniels poured in 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting and 2-of-6 from the 3-point line, adding nine rebounds, six assists and four steals in a dominant two-way performance.

The 18-year-old led the Ignite to a 46-41 half-tmie lead, scoring 15 of his points in the opening half and they led by as many as 14 in the third quarter, before the Stars reeled off a 30-22 third quarter to take a 71-68 lead heading into the final frame, capitalising on some costly turnovers from the Ignite.
It came right down to the wire as the ignite trailed 93-89 with 14 seconds to play and after Jaden Hardy and Daniels missed back-to-back 3-pointers, Daniels buried a clutch triple to cut it to 93-92 with 3.2 seconds remaining, but the Stars held on the seal the W.
Hardy and Michael Foster Jr. added 17 apiece for Ignite, while Elijah Hughes led the Stars with 21 points.
Daniels and the Ignite are back in action against the Stars on Thursday, Dec. 16, from 2:00 p.m AEDT.
