The 77-year-old woman whose disappearance prompted a Silver Alert has been located safe at Salt Lake City International Airport.
The alert was issued around 4 p.m. Friday after she went missing earlier in the morning. Police believed she may have been headed to the airport.
Sammie Ellis was located shortly after police first issued the alert.
Officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department said Ellis left the area of 1000 South 1000 East, about two blocks east of Liberty Park.
Ellis suffers from progressive dementia and paranoia, police said.
Officials said she was carrying a black purse and blue roller carry-on luggage when she went missing. .
Ellis was expected to be reunited with family.
